Admissions
KYUEM accepts qualified students into its A-Level programmes. We encourage applications from students of different backgrounds to encourage diversity, inclusivity and opportunities for all.
Intake Sessions
18 months:
Our 18-month programme is an accelerated linear programme that starts in January, based on students’ IGCSE/O-Level result. Students will sit for both their AS and A2 papers at the end of their third (3rd) semester. We have limited seats quota for this fast-track programme as students would usually opt for the 24-month programme.
24 months:
Our 24-month programme will usually begin in July and consists of 4 semesters overall. Students will sit for their AS examination after their first year and A2 papers after the second year. The intake of the students will be based on actual SPM/mock or actual IGCSE/O-Level result.
Students who have qualifications other than SPM (IB Secondary and equivalent) are invited to apply. Students must be active in co-curricular activities. Selection for the 18-month programme that starts in January will be based on trial or actual IGCSE results (or equivalent).
Prospective students must meet the minimum grades in SPM or IGCSE:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
FAQ:
We specialise in A-Level, which is also referred to as A2 (which consists of AS and A2). Note that students take AS Level examinations in their junior year (and may continue A2 in the senior year). Most students take 4 subjects at AS and (and many will continue 3 or 4 subjects) at A2.
Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Economics, History, English Literature, Accounting, Geography, Marine Science (all available at AS and A2).

- The 24-month programme starts in July and consists of 4 semesters
- The 18-month programme starts in January and consists of 3 semesters
- The 18-month programmes suit “fast track” students
- The 24-month programme is more popular, usually using the SPM/IGCSE results as an entry benchmark
- 18-month students can be admitted on TRIAL SPM exam results, but not on school forecast
AS is half of the A2 grade marked as a^, b^, c^, d^, e^ or U, while A2 is the full subject grade marked as A*, A, B, C, D, E and U.
The KYUEM structure requires AS and A2 to be taken together at the same time for 18-month students. If AS examinations are taken in November and A2 in June, students tend to neglect their A2 lessons. The “linear programme” run at KYUEM has been very successful. Students on the 24-month programme sit for the AS examinations at the end of their first year and the A2 papers at the end of their programme.
